Welwyn Garden City Cricket Club

A brilliant morning at Welwyn Garden City Cricket Club as players, members and volunteers turned out in force for our pre-season working party.

Huge thanks to everyone who got involved — even an hour makes a difference, and this is what keeps the club in such great shape heading into the season.

Some standout efforts:

• Ed and Biff for the heavy lifting on the new enclosure posts

• Mark Cox for leading the nets setup (and doubling as photographer)

• Richard Tucker — spotless changing room floors and superbly finished benches

And as ever, Bridgey and the grounds team have the place looking outstanding — easily one of the best early-season pitches we’ve had.

The morning rolled straight into our EGM, marking another positive step forward for the club as we continue to build for the future  .

We’re also delighted to confirm:

• Chris “Shag” Edwards as 3rd XI Captain
